Keep soil evenly moist; mist cladodes regularly to boost ambient humidity
Diluted balanced liquid feed every 2 weeks. Discontinue fertilization in autumn and winter when growth slows
Banana peel tea:Soak chopped, fully ripe banana peels in water for 3 days; dilute the resulting tea 1:20 with water before applying as a root drench to avoid over-fertilization- Trim brown or yellowed cladodes at the base of stems to maintain a tidy appearance
- Cut back overgrown trailing stems in early spring to encourage dense new growth
- Remove mature red berries if growing around pets to reduce the risk of accidental ingestion
