- Flowers: Terminal spikes, feathery or wheat-like in texture, silvery-green tipped with pink or purple;
- Stem: Upright, branching, often tinged with red or purple, ribbed.
Care Guide
Water deeply and regularly to establish roots, allowing the soil surface to dry slightly between waterings.
Apply a balanced fertilizer to encourage strong vegetative growth.. Avoid over-fertilizing with nitrogen, which can diminish flowering and dull the foliage color.
Banana Peel Tea:Steep chopped banana peels in water for 24-48 hours. Strain and use the liquid to water the base of the plant to promote vibrant blooms. Discard the peels in compost to avoid attracting pests.- Pinch back the center stem when the plant is young to encourage lateral branching and a bushier habit;
- Deadhead spent flower spikes regularly to prolong the blooming period and maintain a tidy appearance;
- Remove any yellowing or damaged leaves at the base to improve air circulation.
