Characteristics
- Leaf: Slender, thread-like leaves up to 30 cm long, covered in sticky glandular hairs that secrete dew-like mucilage to trap insects
- Flower: Small, five-petaled pink blooms on thin, wiry stalks rising above the rosette
- Stem: Thin, delicate flowering stalks emerge from the center of the basal rosette
Care Guide
Keep soil constantly saturated using a tray to maintain consistent moisture levels
No fertilization required; obtains nutrients from captured insects. Do not apply commercial fertilizers as they can burn the plant's sensitive roots
Dechlorinated aquarium water:Dilute 1:1 with distilled water before applying to avoid nutrient overload; do not use water with high nitrate levels- Remove dead, brown leaves and spent flower stalks to maintain plant appearance and airflow
- Trim overcrowded rosettes in early spring to encourage new, healthy growth
- Avoid touching the delicate glandular leaves to prevent damage to the sticky mucilage-producing hairs
