Care Guide

Watering

Water deeply every 7–10 days during active growth; avoid overwatering to prevent root rot

Fertilization

Diluted balanced feed once monthly. Use low-nitrogen fertilizer to prevent excessive foliage growth at the expense of seed heads

Eggshell powder topdress:Crush dried eggshells into fine powder; sprinkle lightly on soil surface and water in gradually to release calcium without causing nutrient burn
Pruning
  • Cut back dead foliage to 10 cm above soil in late winter to stimulate fresh spring growth
  • Remove spent seed heads in early autumn for a tidy appearance, or leave them for winter visual interest
  • Thin overcrowded clumps every 2–3 years in spring to improve airflow and reduce competition for resources
