Care Guide
Keep soil evenly moist; apply a 5–10 cm layer of mulch to retain moisture and suppress weeds
Feed with balanced liquid fertilizer every 2 weeks. Stop fertilizing in early autumn as growth slows to prepare the plant for dormancy
Composted banana peel tea:Soak fully composted banana peels in water for 3 days, dilute 1:20 with water for root drench; avoid using raw peels to prevent pest infestations- Cut back dead or damaged foliage to the pseudostem base throughout the growing season
- Trim back all above-ground growth to 10–15 cm in late autumn before applying winter mulch
- Thin overcrowded pseudostems in early spring to improve airflow and encourage vigorous new growth
