Characteristics

  • Stem: Cylindrical, clustering from the base, pale green, reaching up to 100 cm tall and 10 cm in diameter at maturity;
  • Ribs: Approximately 30, straight and fine, bearing closely set areoles;
  • Spines: Golden-yellow, bristle-like and relatively soft; central spines are longer, while radial spines are numerous and shorter;
  • Flowers: Apical, pale yellow, silky, up to 5 cm in diameter, blooming in summer only on mature plants (typically over 5 years old).

Fertilization

Apply diluted low-nitrogen cactus fertilizer.. Fertilize sparingly during the active growing season to support steady growth and potential blooming.

Banana Peel Tea:Soak chopped banana peels in water for 24 hours, strain, and dilute 1:1 with water. Apply during the summer to support blooming in mature plants. Avoid placing raw peels directly on the soil to prevent fungal gnats and rot.
