Characteristics
- Stem: Globose to short cylindrical, striking blue-green to glaucous, with 11 to 15 acute, straight ribs;
- Spines: Areoles bear bristle-like, golden-yellow spines that line the rib margins in a continuous row;
- Flowers: Apical, funnel-shaped, bright sulfur-yellow, approximately 4-5 cm in diameter, with numerous petals.
Care Guide
Water thoroughly when the soil is completely dry, allowing excess to drain.
Apply a diluted, low-nitrogen fertilizer once at the start of the growing season.. Fertilize sparingly during the active growing season; do not fertilize in winter.
Banana Peel Tea:Soak chopped banana peels in water for 24 hours, strain, and dilute 1:1 with water. Apply during the growing season to support blooming. Avoid leaving solid peels on the soil to prevent mold and pests.- No structural pruning is required;
- Carefully remove spent flowers with long tweezers to maintain a tidy appearance;
- Leave basal offsets intact to allow the plant to form an attractive, natural cluster over time.
