Characteristics
- Leaves: Fleshy, obovate to spoon-shaped, glossy, heavily variegated with irregular marbled patches of cream, pale green, and dark green;
- Stems: Thick, succulent-like, upright to trailing, often tinged with red or purplish-green;
- Flowers: Slender, rat-tail-like spikes, greenish-white, lacking true petals, rising above the foliage;
- Roots: Fine, shallow root system typical of epiphytic or semi-epiphytic plants.
Care Guide
Water thoroughly when the top half of the soil is dry.
Apply a balanced, diluted fertilizer monthly.. Do not fertilize during the winter dormancy period.
Banana Peel Tea:Soak chopped banana peels in water for 24 hours, strain, and dilute 1:1 with fresh water. Use the liquid to water the plant. Discard the solid peels in the compost to avoid attracting fungus gnats indoors.- Pinch back the stems just above a leaf node to encourage bushier, more compact growth;
- Remove any dead, damaged, or entirely solid green leaves to maintain the marbled appearance;
- Use clean, sharp scissors to prevent bacterial infections.
