Characteristics
- Leaves: Fleshy, elongated obovate to spatulate, featuring a dark green center, creamy-white to pale yellow margins, and bright pink or red edges.
- Stems: Thick, succulent-like, often tinged with red or pink, growing upright to slightly trailing as they mature.
- Flowers: Inconspicuous, greenish-white flower spikes (spadices) resembling rat tails, typical of the Piperaceae family.
Care Guide
Water thoroughly when the top half of the soil is dry.
Apply a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength.. Fertilize sparingly during the active growing season; do not fertilize in winter.
Banana Peel Tea:Soak chopped banana peels in water for 24-48 hours, strain, and use the liquid to water the plant. Avoid leaving raw peels on the soil to prevent fungus gnats.- Pinch back leggy stems to encourage bushier growth.
- Remove any dead, damaged, or yellowing leaves at the base.
- Propagate healthy stem or leaf cuttings in water or soil.
