Plant Needs
Characteristics
- Leaves: Deeply lobed, glossy green, significantly smaller and more compact than the standard Xanadu, forming a dense rosette;
- Stems: Short, stout, clumping habit with prominent leaf scars as it ages;
- Roots: Fibrous root system with occasional short aerial roots near the soil surface.
Care Guide
Water thoroughly once the topsoil dries out, allowing excess to drain.
Apply a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength.. Do not fertilize during the winter dormancy period.
Banana Peel Tea:Steep chopped banana peels in water for 24 hours, strain, and use the liquid to water the plant. Discard the solid peels in the compost to avoid attracting fungus gnats.- Remove any yellowing or dead leaves at the base by snipping close to the main stem;
- Wipe leaves regularly with a damp cloth to remove dust and support photosynthesis;
- No structural pruning is necessary due to its naturally compact, clumping habit.
