Care Guide

Watering

Water deeply when the topsoil feels dry, keeping it evenly moist but not soggy.

Fertilization

Apply a balanced organic fertilizer as new growth emerges.. Avoid over-fertilizing with nitrogen, which promotes foliage growth at the expense of flowers.

Banana Peel Tea:Steep chopped banana peels in water for 24-48 hours, strain, and use the liquid to water the base of the plant. This boosts potassium for prolific blooming. Discard peels in compost to avoid attracting pests.
Pruning
  • Pinch back young shoot tips in late spring to encourage a bushier habit;
  • Deadhead spent flower spikes regularly to promote continuous blooming;
  • Cut stems back to the ground in late winter or early spring before new growth begins.
