Characteristics
- Leaves: Fleshy, ovate to elliptic, dark green on top and vibrant purple underneath, densely covered in fine white hairs;
- Flowers: Small, clustered at stem tips, featuring three pink to white petals and hairy sepals;
- Stems: Thick, succulent, purplish-green, trailing and rooting readily at the nodes.
Care Guide
Water thoroughly when topsoil dries out.
Apply a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength.. Feed during the active growing season; pause in winter.
Banana Peel Tea:Soak chopped banana peels in water for 24 hours, strain, and use the liquid to water the plant. Avoid leaving raw peels on the soil to prevent gnats.- Pinch back stem tips regularly to encourage a bushier, more compact growth habit;
- Remove any dead or yellowing leaves at the base;
- Propagate healthy stem cuttings in water or directly in soil.

Pets: Toxic per ASPCA; contact with sap can cause allergic dermatitis, and ingestion may cause mild GI upset.
Humans: Sap may cause minor skin irritation or mild stomach upset if ingested.

Culture: Widely cultivated in Western indoor gardening for its rapid growth and striking foliage, often shared among gardeners as cuttings.
Usage: Excellent for hanging baskets, terrariums, or as a trailing shelf plant.
