Characteristics
- Leaves: Fine-textured, dark green blades, 1-2 mm wide, folded in the bud with a hairy ligule;
- Stems: Spreads aggressively via extensive above-ground stolons and below-ground rhizomes, forming a dense mat;
- Flowers: As a sterile hybrid, it rarely produces the digitate (finger-like) seed heads typical of common bermudagrass.
Care Guide
Water deeply 1-2 times a week, allowing soil to dry slightly between waterings.
Apply high-nitrogen fertilizer once green-up occurs.. Requires regular feeding during the active growing season to maintain its dense mat.
Coffee Grounds Topdressing:Sprinkle used, dried coffee grounds lightly over the lawn and water in well. Provides a gentle nitrogen boost. Avoid thick clumps to prevent mold.- Mow frequently (every 2-3 days) during peak growth using a reel mower for best results;
- Maintain a mowing height of 0.5 to 1.5 cm;
- Dethatch and aerate annually in late spring or early summer to prevent thatch buildup.
