Characteristics
- Leaves: Broad, basal, dark green, glossy, ovate to elliptic with prominent parallel veins and undulating margins;
- Flowers: Umbel inflorescence bearing 3 to 6 pure white, highly fragrant, star-shaped flowers with a central staminal cup tinged green;
- Stem: Leafless, sturdy scape rising above the foliage to support the floral cluster;
- Roots: Subterranean bulb that multiplies by producing offsets.
Care Guide
Water thoroughly when the top inch of soil feels dry, maintaining high humidity.
Apply a balanced liquid fertilizer every two weeks.. Feed regularly during active growth, but withhold fertilizer during the winter resting period.
Banana Peel Tea:Steep chopped banana peels in water for 24 hours, then strain. Dilute the liquid 1:1 with water and apply to the soil to encourage blooming. Discard the solid peels in compost to avoid attracting pests or causing mold indoors.- Remove spent flower stalks at the base to redirect energy to the bulb;
- Trim away any yellowing, dead, or damaged leaves near the soil line;
- Wipe leaves gently with a damp cloth to remove dust and improve photosynthesis.
