Characteristics
- Leaf: Thick, obovate fleshy leaves clustered at stem tips; drop during prolonged dry periods
- Stem: Upright, segmented green to gray-green stems with paired spines at leaf scars
- Flower: Small yellowish-green cyathia (false flowers) in dense terminal clusters
Care Guide
Water when top 5 cm of soil is fully dry
Diluted balanced liquid feed once monthly. Cease fertilization in winter to support dormancy
Eggshell powder top-dress:Sprinkle 1–2 tbsp of crushed, dried eggshells on soil surface; mix lightly into top 2 cm of soil to avoid root disturbance- Wear thick gloves to avoid contact with milky sap during pruning
- Remove dead or damaged stems in early spring to maintain plant shape
- Trim leggy growth to encourage compact, bushy growth
