Characteristics
- Leaf: Thick, fleshy, gray-green leaves with sharp terminal spines and curved marginal teeth
- Stem: Short, compact basal stem hidden by dense leaf rosette
- Flower: Tall, branched stalk bearing yellow, bell-shaped flowers in dense clusters
Care Guide
Water deeply once every 2–3 weeks when soil is fully dry
Diluted low-nitrogen feed once every 2 months. Cease fertilization in winter when growth slows
Eggshell powder topdress:Crush dried eggshells into fine powder; sprinkle 1 tsp per pot on the soil surface and gently work into the top layer to improve drainage and boost calcium levels- Wear thick gloves to avoid spine injury; remove dead, yellowing leaves at the base of the rosette
- Trim the spent flowering stalk after bloom, as the parent plant dies following flowering
- Thin overcrowded offshoots in spring to maintain airflow and rosette shape
