Characteristics
- Leaf: Thick, fleshy blue-green leaves with creamy white marginal stripes, tipped with a sharp dark terminal spine
- Stem: Short underground caudex; no visible aboveground stem
- Inflorescence: Tall branched spike up to 6 m tall with small yellow-green flowers (plant dies after blooming)
Care Guide
Water deeply once every 10–14 days; let soil dry fully between waterings
Diluted low-nitrogen cactus fertilizer once monthly. Do not fertilize in winter, as the plant is dormant
Eggshell powder topdress:Crush dried eggshells into fine powder; sprinkle lightly on the soil surface and water in to release nutrients without risking root burn- Remove dried, brown outer leaves to maintain a tidy rosette shape and improve airflow
- Trim the tall spent flower stalk after blooming, as the parent plant will die shortly after flowering
- Remove damaged or diseased leaves promptly to prevent pest or fungal spread
