Characteristics
- Leaf: Thick, linear fleshy leaves with sharp terminal spines and small marginal teeth; blue-green to gray-green foliage
- Flower: Tall, branched inflorescence reaching 3–5 m tall, bearing clusters of yellow, bell-shaped flowers; parent plant dies after flowering
- Stem: Short, underground rhizome that produces rooted offsets (pups) to spread colonies
Care Guide
Water once every 2–3 weeks when soil is fully dry
Diluted cactus-specific fertilizer once every 2 months. Discontinue fertilization in autumn and winter to support dormancy
Eggshell powder topdressing:Crush dried eggshells into fine powder and sprinkle a thin layer on soil surface; avoid mixing into soil to prevent nutrient imbalance- Remove dead, brown, or damaged outer leaves to maintain a tidy rosette shape
- Snip rooted offset pups at the rhizome for propagation and prevent overcrowding of the parent plant
- Cut back the spent flower stalk to ground level after the parent plant dies to tidy the planting area
