Keep soil consistently moist during active growth and flowering
Apply balanced slow-release fertilizer once at bud break. Use a fertilizer formulated for acid-loving plants to support berry development
Eggshell powder topdressing:Crush dried, sterilized eggshells into fine powder; sprinkle 1–2 tbsp around the base of the plant and water in to release calcium gradually- Prune in late winter to early spring before new growth emerges to shape the shrub and remove dead or crossing branches
- Thin crowded stems to improve air circulation and light penetration for better berry production
- Remove suckers growing from the base to maintain a tidy form; avoid heavy pruning that reduces fruiting wood
