Care Guide
Keep soil consistently moist during active growth; reduce watering as foliage begins to yellow
Apply a balanced slow-release fertilizer when shoots first emerge. Avoid high-nitrogen fertilizers to prevent excessive foliage growth at the expense of flowers
Banana peel tea:Chop 2–3 banana peels, soak in 1 liter of water for 3 days, dilute 1:10 with water, and apply as a root drench to active plants- Remove spent flower heads to redirect energy to bulb storage; leave foliage intact until it turns fully brown
- Trim yellowed foliage to tidy garden beds once dormancy begins
- Divide overcrowded bulb clumps in autumn after foliage has died back to promote healthy growth
